EX-308 Excimer Laser Treatment for Leukoderma
Leukoderma is the name given to white patches on the skin. These patches are due to the partial or total loss of skin pigmentation. There are many causes of leukoderma including immunological (vitiligo and halo mole), congenital, infection, and post-inflammatory. Post-inflammatory leukoderma is commonly the result of aesthetic laser treatments such as CO2 resurfacing and hair removal. Mature striae alba, "white stretch marks", are another common form of leukoderma.
UV phototherapy is widely accepted as the gold standard approach for re-pigmenting leukoderma. By stimulating any residual as well as peripheral melanocytes, significant re-pigmentation may be achieved. The PHAROS EX-308 is the only excimer laser or targeted UV source to feature an adjustable spot size and corresponding aiming beam for precisely targeted dose delivery that avoids exposing healthy skin. This minimizes peripheral erythema and hyper-pigmentation for optimal cosmetic results.
